Attenzione alle truffe Whatsapp – Conoscerle per difendersi al meglio
Un inizio di 2019 all’insegna delle truffe WhatsApp. Il nuovo anno non sembra aver fatto perdere l’abitudine ai truffatori seriali che oramai sfruttano l’applicazione per diffondere i loro messaggi.
Tra le principali, troviamo le seguenti:
LA TRUFFA DI WHATSAPP A PAGAMENTO
“Gentile utente, dalla prossima settimana ogni messaggio inviato su WhatsApp costerà 0,01€, per non pagare è necessario confermare il proprio account premendo su questo link”. Un messaggio-truffa che torna continuamente su WhatsApp e che ha fatto migliaia di vittime. Appena si clicca sul link si scaricherà un virus sul proprio smartphone che spia i movimenti dell’utente. Riconoscere la truffa è semplicissimo: WhatsApp è gratuito e resterà tale fino a quando non sarà l’applicazione a dare una comunicazione differente.
LA TRUFFA DEL BUONO SCONTO
Gli hacker sfruttano il nome di catene commerciali famose per inviare dei messaggi con un buono sconto all’interno. La strategia è sempre la stessa “Gentile utente, per ricevere uno sconto di xxx euro da spendere nei negozi xxx (nome della catena commerciale), premi sul link”. Subito dopo aver premuto sulla URL, si diventa vittima di un messaggio phishing. Ci ritroveremo con un virus sullo smartphone che cercherà di monitorare le nostre abitudini. Ricordatevi, le grandi aziende non offrono buoni sconto su WhatsApp.
LA TRUFFA DI WHATSAPP GOLD
Non esistono versioni “premium” di WhatsApp, tutti i messaggi ricevuti con la possibilità di scaricare WhatsApp Gold per ricevere funzionalità aggiuntive, sono in realtà dei virus. La truffa è molto semplice, i pirati informatici inviano un messaggio che invita a scaricare WhatsApp Gold da uno store parallelo a quello di Google. Logicamente si tratta di un virus che andrà a infettare lo smartphone.
COME DIFENDERSI?
Ovviamente la miglior difesa rimane il buon senso ed un pizzico di attenzione a quello che si fa. “Regalare, non ti regala niente nessuno“, questa è la filosofia da seguire per evitare truffe su WhatsApp con iPhone e Android. Fai molta attenzione nel rilevare contenuti ingannevoli, pensaci due volte prima di seguire i link o le istruzioni proposte nel messaggio, perché oltre alle truffe su WhatsApp, qualcuno potrebbe addirittura hacherarti la password di Facebook o quella del tuo account di posta elettronica.
