CARTA REVOLVING COSE’?
La carta revolving è una delle principali tipologie di carte di credito. Rientra nella categoria delle carte ricaricabili e ha le stesse funzionalità della tradizionale carta di credito a saldo; a differenza di questa, però, non prevede l’addebito sul conto di tutte le spese con un’unica soluzione a fine mese.
Al contrario, essa consente di effettuare acquisti indipendentemente dai fondi disponibili sul proprio conto corrente, per ripagare poi il proprio debito nei confronti dell’istituto finanziario con rate mensili di importo costante.
COME FUNZIONA?
La carta revolving può dunque essere usata per tutti gli acquisti in negozio, lo shopping on-line e i prelievi agli sportelli: consente di effettuare transazioni fino al raggiungimento dell’importo massimo messo a disposizione dal creditore (linea di credito).
I rimborsi di queste transazioni prevedono una rata minima costante, il cui importo può essere eventualmente incrementato a discrezione del titolare, che può anche scegliere di saldare l’intero debito.
Questa tipologia di finanziamento risulta ben più accessibile rispetto ai normali prestiti e finanziamenti in quanto richiede meno garanzie da parte del cliente.
SVANTAGGI
D’altro canto, però, le carte revolving spesso nascondono numerosi svantaggi, legati soprattutto agli interessi elevati.
La Banca d’Italia per il terzo trimestre 2018 rileva per le carte revolving un tasso medio effettivo globale su base annua (taeg) del 16,15% (!), con un tasso soglia usura (ossia, il tasso oltre il quale scatta il reato) del 24,15%, il più alto in assoluto rispetto a tutte le altre tipologie di finanziamento.
Quante volte, negli ultimi anni, avete ricevuto via mail offerte di concessione di carte revolving, magari spedite direttamente a casa, dopo che vi era stato negato un prestito personale? Nessuna meraviglia! Perché tra un prestito personale (tasso medio del 10%) e una carta revolving ci sono almeno sei punti di differenza tasso!
La continua disponibilità di denaro spinge spesso i clienti a sovra-indebitarsi, non riuscendo più a sostenere gli interessi di mora e le commissioni di massimo scoperto. In un periodo segnato dalla diminuzione dei prestiti ai privati e alle famiglie, l’utilizzo delle carte revolving risulta in costante ascesa, anche tra i più giovani.
E’ bene però prestare molta attenzione ai contratti che si sottoscrivono con la propria banca, indagando approfonditamente sui vincoli e sui costi che tali finanziamenti comportano.
Vale inoltre la pena di ricordare la regola aurea per quanto riguarda le spese: fare sempre il passo (vale a dire l’acquisto) proporzionato alla propria gamba (cioè alle proprie entrate economiche).
